Re: Expense Tracking Solution
Hi all ... What happens in Cranford, stays in Cranford. That is, the Cranford credit card account. What Steve is doing is exactly the right way to handle the credit card. The only thing missing from that description, was reconciliation of the account. For that you use the same reconciliation functio...

Re: Expense Tracking Solution
Hey there! New to PowerChurch. How do most people handle expense tracking--people buying supplies and submitting receipts? Its handled like any other vendor, using the Accounts Payable. That said, I'm assuming that these are authorized purchases. Frankly, unless they're also using any church sales ...

Re: How do you print a church address and phone directory
I am desperately trying to print an updated church address and phone directory, with emails, but no pictures. Everything I have clicked on always brings in "inactive" and "deceased" individuals. I have followed multiple different possibilities - trying from the Membership side and also from the Con...

Re: Perplexing situation re: "posted" item not showing up where it is supposed to
I did uncheck it and the check definitely does not show up. It also still does not show up in the income and expense reports. Since it is not showing up in the reports or reconciliation, can I try to reenter the whole transaction or will that really mess things up? I would first check to make ABSOL...

Re: Perplexing situation re: "posted" item not showing up where it is supposed to
The date was actually entered as 1/10/2024 and I tried the reconciliation thing and it still does not show up there. I took screen shots of the places it is showing up, but is there a way to upload a word document so you can see what I am seeing? No way to upload anything, sorry. So you UNCHECKED t...

Re: Perplexing situation re: "posted" item not showing up where it is supposed to
I entered the transaction yesterday, 2/20/2024 but the working month was January 2024. The actual transaction date was 1/18/2024. Entered in the Maintain Manual checks module, posted there yesterday. If I go into the Vendor account, it shows up on the check history tab. I posted it in the general l...

Re: Contribution Date vs. Deposit Date
Hey there Neil, I'm trying to see if something can be done or not. My Pastor when he has me print a monthly income and expense report in power church wants that report to be equal to what we see as the total on our bank statement of the deposits/credits monthly. Maybe better put...is there a report...

Also .. not 'closing months' would have nothing to do with what you're seeing.

Re: Perplexing situation re: "posted" item not showing up where it is supposed to
We are using the most current edition of the software. Our church does manual checks. I entered a check made out to the IRS for our payroll taxes, nothing different than I have ever done. I posted the check in the Accounts Payable Module and I can see it in Fund Accounting under View Posted Transac...

Re: Paid invoice corrected, now I have a credit
Hi, I've only been using PowerChurch for about a month and am still trying to figure everything out; I used QuickBooks in my prior job. Before my time, we received an invoice for our copiers. It was paid, but then we realized the invoice was incorrect. The vendor corrected the invoice, which ended ...

Re: Accountant needed
Looking for a church accountant (Northern Virginia) - Any tips ? Should they be familiar with Power church, etc.? Thanks. They should know how to do double-entry bookkeeping. The program itself is fairly easy to use, its the double entry part that causes a lot of confusion. They should also underst...

Re: Changing A Congregants Address in Contributions
I need to change an address of a contributor. I have been unable to determine a way to do this. Could you advise? Thank you. Are you using the online or desktop product and what version? If you're using the desktop version (v 14.4): Membership > Integrated Data Entry, use Locate to find the record,...

Re: Changes get lost in Accounting setup
Help, please. I'm just trying to do the accounting setup and find that changes keep getting lost. For example, an account that's been deleted reappears. I don't see a way to "save" work. What am I doing wrong? Thank you. -- Paul M. If you're in accounting setup, you should be able to click on the E...

This is very helpful and it worked perfectly on my part. However, about the 941. If this mileage reimbursement is set up by going to Payroll>Setup>maintain item description>Item no=28>description=Associate Pastor mileage reimbursement>type=income>tax options =non-taxable, does checking non-taxable ...

Re: Payroll
From what I can tell over the years travel for the minister has either been paid at the current IRS mileage rate or the budget has included an annual budget and the minister was paid 1/12 of the budget each month. Is there a correct/preferred method? If travel is not a normal reimbursement for mile...
