contributions credit to wrong account
Help!
I've discovered that one of our contributions has been crediting to an expense account rather than an income account.
I can make the correction now but since this correction is not retroactive how do I fix the previous 3 months of contributions?

reconciling bank account statement date
Just wondering how much does the statement date matter. The bank statement closes the month of March on the 29th. If I use March 29, it won't include payroll transactions that "occurred" on March 31, however I need to include those transactions otherwise it won't reconcile (the money actually left o...

tracking long term investment asset
Does anyone know how to track/manage an outside investment? We have a long term investment account managed by our denomination. We receive an update every year showing the initial investment amounts, capitalized interest on each investment and total balance. I would like to update the numbers we hav...

negative liabilities
So, I'm assuming it's not normal to have negative liabilities?
We have negative liabilities within the group insurance sections (ie. LTD payable, AD&D payble, etc) of our balance sheet and I'm trying to figure out why.

yes, it shows in the net assets portion of the balance sheet.
now, what reports do I have to run at the end of the year that will show the total cumulative income and total cumulative expenses?

Re: income and expense report
So, this is what I found. Restricted fund balance: 02-3215-215 Income account: 02-4215-215 Expense account: 02-6215-215 Income and expense accounts close to the fund balance. On the contribution side, the income account it was using was the fund balance. I have switched it to the actual income accou...

Re: closing months, old posted transactions
Yes, I did a backup. I accidentally copied the original transactions instead of the void transactions
It's all good now, thanks for the help

Re: income and expense report
I understand, but this amount shouldn't be going into the unrestricted fund balance and needs to show up in the income and expense report as it's own line item.
How do I check if it's unrestricted and going into the unrestricted fund balance?
If it is, how do I adjust it so that it's restricted?

Re: closing months, old posted transactions
no, the original transactions from 2016 and 2017 were bill payments and cheques that were never reconciled nor voided at the end of the year. the void transactions created in Jan 2019 were on the deposit side, which is how I was able to reconcile them to the original transactions. the reversed void ...

Re: closing months, old posted transactions
I now have a problem caused by clearing these old transactions, I only discovered it just today.
I don't remember what I did to clear the transactions but there are some VOID transactions now posted in January and are causing my income and expense report to show negative values.

Re: income and expense report
yea. But now, I have another issue to deal with. We have a designated fund where we have been receiving contributions. Someone asked me how much money had been received to date for that fund, so I went to look in the income and expense report. The amount doesn't show up (because the amount is zero) ...
