Emailing through Act&Skills Mod
Without any changes made to the program, yesterday the ability to email through the Activities & Skills Mod stopped working and gave us an error message of: "A connection to the email server could not be made. The SMTP server reported an error code 535; 5.7.8. Username and Password not accepted. Lea...

You're the man Zorak. I thought it was a zero but once I figured out they are brackets it worked like a charm.
Thanks much. John D.

Re: Using Database manager
Zorak, that worked slick as can be, what a time saver. Thanks much. I then also tried to wipe out Date4 (renamed Married) with: REPL ALL DATE4 WITH " " FOR STATUS ="DN" but then I get a data error. I also tried " / / " but no go. Could that be because dates are numeric fields? Please advise.

Using Database manager
We use Date 6 and renamed it Deceased. We also keep dates when people come in (In-Date, Date 5) and when they leave (Out-date, Date 7). I've discovered we have over 100 deceased people but the Out-date has been left blank. I want to make anyone with a Deceased date copied into the Out-date field. Th...

Re: Emailing to a Profile won't bring up Outlook
Thanks much. That does make sense. I have gmail for personal mail and the office uses Outlook.
Not sure how to tell Windows to default to Outlook. Is there a quick setting to use?

Emailing to a Profile won't bring up Outlook
If I sit at our server and do a single email to a Personal Profile record, it brings up Outlook and all is fine. At my own desktop, if I email to a Profile, it brings up the Chrome browser. I've checked all the settings in preferences on both desktops and they appear to be the same. Any ideas as to ...

Re: What's a good way to print name tags for Activity volunt
Thanks Zorak. That works fine. As I mentioned before, we want to send email reminders to next sunday's volunteers. We have more than 20 set up in that Activity code of Nursery Volunteers. As you can guess I want to be able to pick and choose a few people to get the email. I seem to think I've seen w...

What's a good way to print name tags for Activity volunteers
Note, just purchased Check In and used it two sundays. They want name badges (tags) for each volunteer on sunday mornings in the nurseries. I'm thinking the first step would be to make an activity 5200, lets say, and put all volunteers in that activity. My question: is there a way in Check In (or Po...

Re: Case-sensitive sorting
Thanks Zorak,
What you say is true. Our issue is that:
Tyler Van Den Bosch prints before
Gene Vanden Bosch prints before
Abe Vandenbosch
I take all spaces out and lower case all but the first letter of the last and first names of the Household Key. Seems to work for us.

Re: Case-sensitive sorting
I have set up rules for entering names because we have a lot of Dutch names in our denomination. We have names spelled such as Vandenbosch, Van Den Bosch, Van den bosch, Vanden Bosch and all sorts of patterns. These names will come on a report out of alpha order. The old telephone books had it figur...

Re: Two column report of Visit Areas
Oh boy. I did a copy of your fild expression, drew a new blank fld, and pasted the "Group "+m.vagroup to it. I always like to click on VERIFY. It gives me a Operator/Operand Type mismatch and even if I do run it still no dice here. Maybe I'd better just do the copy/paste thing from a one col report ...

Re: Two column report of Visit Areas
Wow, why can't I get this? Please have patience. I entered the word GROUP (no quotes) into a label because that does NOT change. I followed that up with a FIELD with +m.vagroup because that data WILL change. In the Page Setup I have 2 colums, width is 3.900, Print area is Printable page Col print or...

Re: Two column report of Visit Areas
Thanks much Zorak. I've followed your samples almost to the 'tee' (I think) but I have it set for Landscape printing, with Group A and B on the left half, c and D must be on page 2, etc. I have shared for you to see: Capt1 is how I set my Query Capt2 is the Design window Capt3 is page 1 of the print...
