Re: Two column report of Visit Areas

I guess I've been away from Variables for too long now. I'll summarize what I've done. I created the m.vagroup variable with your expression and set initial value it to "", Reset value based on Report, Calculation None. My Date Grouping nesting order is m.vagroup and I group on m.vagroup with Starts...

Re: Two column report of Visit Areas

Thank you Zorak. I'm making progress but I'm only getting one name per page and same name in both columns. Also I've set up "Pastoral Care Groups" in the Page Header band and want that printed on each page and I have "Group " m.vagroup in the group header band. The word 'Group' is getting printed ab...

Two column report of Visit Areas

Running ver 11 on windows 7 & 10. We have Visit Areas assigned A thru G. I want to print a report for our Directory showing Group A and B on the first page, C and D on the 2nd page, and so on. Group G will end up on it's own page by default. I've got the report showing the two columns but group A is...

Re: Church Directory question

I was kind of afraid of that. I know where you are coming from but our Directory gets printed and handed out to the congregation. The Visit Area groups do things together and so each family likes to see who else is assigned to their group. Also the visiting teams like to have that quick reference. I...

Church Directory question

Each of our families are assigned to a respective Elder/Deacon Team for visiting. We use the Visit Area field to enter the Team's code. We would really like to see that printed beside the family name in the Church Directory. We use Ver 11. Has this been addressed in the latest version of PC+? Or is ...

Re: Get a family count on information sheets

Wow, I would never have thought of that one. The count is now correct.
Thanks much for that solution. John

Get a family count on information sheets

I print a sheet for each family showing each family member in order to get updated information for our Directory. I want a count of all sheets on the summary sheet at the end. I added a variable m.families and set Value to Store to m.families + 1 Calculation type: is set to Count Reset value is Grou...

Alternate address time again

It's snowbird season and lots of folks go south. I use the Alternate address fields but don't want to manually update the year each year. These folks usually go the same 3 or 4 months so it would be nice to either not have to enter the 'year' portion of it OR have the ability to update the year auto...

Re: Using Family e-mail addresses

Actually I was getting a syntax error in my IIF statement and that's why I asked "How do I put a compound If/Else expression in one field?" but I liked the way you phrased it too.
Is the !EMPTY test mean same as "NOT EMPTY"?

Re: Using Family e-mail addresses

I'm now good with the Yellow Screen of Death and know how to get around that. I could easily do this in two reports but I'm trying to print, in one report: If the Family MailStmt is True then print the Family Email, ELSE If the Profile emailstmt is True then print the Profile Email. I can't get that...

Re: Using Family e-mail addresses

Thanks, Zorak. Actually I don't even get that far. I've tried it both ways in that if I add just E-mail (from profiles), or just "Family E-mail" to the Edit Output Fields the query will run fine. But when I add the other email field in, the query aborts. Seems like it cant handle both email fields a...

Using Family e-mail addresses

I've written many custom reports but I keep getting the Yellow screen of death on one I'm modifying. I recently started using the Family e-mail field if both parents use the same one, erasing the Profile emails. Now I have to change several custom reports that I've written. So in the report I'll nee...
