Re: Contribution report filtering

I find that when generating quarterly contribution statements to be mailed to our congregation, I can't get the filter right so that only those reports I'm interested in are printed. What I want to print out are statements for those who either: 1) Pledged to contribute to the church or 2) Contribut...

Re: Restricted Fund Accounting - PC vs ACS

We are a Canadian church of about 800 families, and have been a happy Power Church user for about 6 years. We have used almost everything except the fund accounting module. We use QuickBooks for the accounting system, with all contributions and pledges recorded in Power Church. Recently, our new au...

Re: How do I handle credit card donations?

Not "cash", not "check", but donations made by credit card. We've just started letting people pay their pledges, or make donation by credit card. Is there a way to handle this in PowerChurch? Right now we're listing them as cash, but that throws off the deposit report. We're hand-editing the deposi...

thanks Neil! After having a training session for my Counters last night, that is EXACTLY what we decided to do! If we try to "monkey" with the deposit by taking cash out of one account and putting it into another one, it messes up the audit trail (and really confused my Financial Secretary to boot!...

Re: consecutive absence report

How can I get a mail merge of the people who are on the consecutive absence report? Thanks, Trish You can't directly. However, you can create a custom report that will do the same thing, and then pull the data in comma delimited format for use in a mail merge. If you just want to get a mail merge o...

Re: One Check, Two Funds (2 bank accounts)

We're using the check reader and I have a couple of people who are writing ONE CHECK that part of it goes to Tithe and part of it goes to a Building Fund that are separate accounts at the bank. We used to be able to handle this by just grabbing the amount of the Building Fund in cash and put it in ...

Re: Print Bank Acct Number on Check

Please help. We just started using the Acctg section of PC+ (V9). We are trying to print a computer generated check using blank Laser Top Check (2 stubs) formatted checks. Is there a way we can set PC+ up to print our church name & address as well the bank's information and bank account number on t...

Moving to Pittsburgh

Hello all, as many of you know, I've been using Powerchurch at our current church since version 7 in 2000. During that time, i was able to pass on hints and procedures that we found worked well at Ashburn Presbyterian. Now, my wife and I are headed in a new direction. She'll be starting school at Pi...

Re: Labels not printing

I had gotten a couple of calls from people who did not receive their newsletter this last month. So when I printed the labels for this month, their labels did not print. I checked their status and they are checked to receive mailings. I also did not uncheck any boxes for their Mailing Category. I l...

Re: Returned Contribution Check

What is the best way to make adjustments in the Accounting Module for contribution checks that are returned for NSF from the bank? We have not yet started using the Contribution Module and enter the Tithes and Offerings each week as a gross figure into the Accounting Module. My thoughts are to ente...

Make sure "Large Fonts" aren't enabled. That can cause weird things to happen. To check that, right click on your desktop and select "Properties." Then, under 'Settings' and also under 'Appearance' make sure all your font settings are normal size (96dpi). That simple a fix ... shoot, I should have ...

Re: Blank personal & marital status boxes

In the Personal Profiles screen, often times when I open a profile, the boxes for both personal status and marital status are blank. I know they have been filled in and saved. When I click on the box, it inputs the saved info in and doesn't require me to save (because it was already saved.) My ques...

Re: Missing pledges

We recently discovered that our pledge data for 2006 don't show up any more. These were entered in January, but now they're gone. My question is, is there some way for me to accidentally delete these? I can reenter them, but I want to know how this may have happened so I only have to reenter them o...

Re: Combining PowerChurch Data Files

We have been using PowerChurch on two different computers - on a laptop to enter contributions and on a desktop to enter chart of account information - and would like to combine them to one computer. Would it be possible to copy and paste relevant data files from the laptop over to the desktop with...
