GoDaddy outage affects PowerChurch Online
Internet domain name registrar GoDaddy.com went down today. Mypowerchurch.com and ourchurchfamily.net (OneBody) are both registered through GoDaddy, and they are configured to point to our actual servers from there. (For the technical-minded of you, their DNS servers went down). PowerChurch Online i...

Re: IDS and OSX Lion
Sorry about that, apparently the permissions on the file didn't get updated when I copied it over. It should be accessible now. Also, apparently it is necessary for me to note that this update DOES NOT somehow make the client work on an iPad or iPhone. That is a feature we expect in a future release...

Re: IDS and OSX Lion
We have received an updated Mac client from our vendor. We have done some testing with it in OSX 10.7 (Lion) and the issues previously reported have been resolved. The new client and installation instructions are available here: http://www.mypowerchurch.com/installmac.html. You do not need to uninst...

Re: IDS and OSX Lion
We just sent an email out to all our PowerChurch Online customers letting them know this very thing. When the fix does get released, it will almost certainly require a new client download, so we'll send out another email informing when that is ready.

PowerChurch Online and Comcast ConstantGuard
Several users have reported an odd issue where anything typed into the IDS client shows up as numbers. This is true of anything typed into the login screen as well as in PowerChurch itself (if you manage to get connected). If you copy/paste text into PowerChurch, it works fine, but that's not a very...

Re: My 1st OneBody sync didn't work
There's a log for onebody that will give more information about what's happened. You'll find it in C:\ProgramData\PowerChurch\onebodysync.log
Attach that file to an email and send it to support@powerchurch.com, and we can take a look at it here to see what the problem may be.

Re: "Critical redirection error"
I'm not able to recreate this issue. Try reinstalling the client software. There was an update recently to the installer to specifically fix a problem some folks were having with the document redirection files. This may fix what you're seeing since that's what your error is referring to. Just go to ...

Re: IDS Failed to Connect on Port #491
Access to PowerChurch Online has been restored. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and I'm sorry for maligning the new guy at the datacenter. It wasn't a firewall issue after all, that "port 491" message was a red herring. The service that manages how the network load is distributed between all our se...

Re: IDS Failed to Connect on Port #491
After working with the datacenter guys, I've been able to determine what is wrong to a point. I've passed this information on to our server software support techs, and they're in there now trying to figure out how and why this has happened. Again, sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully this shou...

Re: IDS Failed to Connect on Port #491
There's no maintenance or any other scheduled outage going on right now. The port 491 message usually means that your local firewall configuration isn't allowing outgoing requests on port 491 (which is what the IDS client/server uses). That's not the case now, so the logical assumption is it's somet...

Re: V11 online contributions reports
There are a couple of files that handle document redirection to the local machine on Windows computers, and that's what you seem to be missing. This is kind of annoying, but it'll fix the issue. The two files are idsrcli.exe and idsrdcli.exe. One gets put into C:\Windows and the other is in C:\Progr...

Re: How long will PowerChurch 10 be supported?
Mark, I can't say definitively whether or not your web app would still work with version 11, but I will say that we haven't changed the names of any of the existing fields, nor have we taken anything away. We've added some stuff (lots, actually), but I'm going to make an educated guess and say that ...

Re: Print Preview
Direct-to-printer is how the IDS client is *supposed* to work, and is the way it works by default in Windows. I'll test the print preview on the Mac and see if I get an error message or anything that I can pass on to the IDS guys.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Wishlist for Version 11
Well, ok Susan, since you asked so nicely. For version 11, we're going to provide an interface to Onebody, an online directory/social networking/contact website that we're going to host. PowerChurch will be able to push information directly to the website so your members can log in and view their in...
