Re: Unrestricted Net Assets
I did the adjustments to income for this past year as we are at year end and I'm closing out the records for CY12. This seemed the best time to hopefully have a fresh start for the new year. Everything looks good right now! I'll keep an eye on the accounts as I make transactions that would affect th...

Re: Unrestricted Net Assets
You are probably right - the initial transfer as well as several subsequent transfers were done that way. Many of which were in years that have already been closed. What can I do to get it all right now - and move forward using the transfer accounts (which I have had set up over the last year or so)?

Unrestricted Net Assets
Is there a report to show me everything that closes to 3110? I have run my year end Balance Sheet by Fund and I have money showing on my Balance Sheet as Unrestricted Net Assets (3110) that is really Restricted Funds. The money we have in our Building Fund MM (which is restricted) is showing under 3...

Balance Sheet
I began keeping our church books with little accounting knowledge, learning much over the years using Powerchurch. In closing this year, I am trying to further udnerstand the balance sheet. I understand my assets and where that total comes from. However, I cannot understand what comprises Net Unrest...

Re: Changing Donor Restrictions
OK - I think I have this figured out for short term restricted. Now, I have some pass thru accounts that I want to also move for the new year. But most of then have negative balances - because the church will cover costs up front and then collect those funds. So do I use the same type of transaction...

Changing Donor Restrictions
In the past, I have had the donor restricted accounts set up in the same fund as regular operating income and expenses. But this makes my reports very difficult to understand each month when it shows both general fund expenses and expenses that were paid with donor restricted funds coming out of the...

Restriicted Donation on Balance Sheet
I have a Restricted Fund for Building Fund which at the end of each month we transfer the balance to a Money Market. At this point, all funds have been transferred. However, when I run my Balance Sheet, it still shows a balance in that account. I have checked each of the related accounts and all the...

Restricted Fund not in the list
When I post a transaction using restricted funds and click "Release Restricted Funds" that account is not in the list. What have I done wrong? Thanks!

Re: Purchase of Property
Thanks for this reference. I'll get started with it. For now, how and to where would you recommend we charge the cost of survey, appraisal, closing costs, etc. What expenses account - Misc?

Purchase of Property
We are purchasing property and I need to know how to do several things. First the initial costs - survey, appraisal, closing, etc. Where do I post these? Next how do I set up the mortgage. I've read numerous posts here and like the idea of an Expense Account showing the entire payment with a Liabili...

Budget Report
Perhaps I am just overlooking it, but I can not find a report that shows how much of the budget has been expended in the following incident. We had restricted funds for the Music Ministry. When the purchase was made I posted the transaction as a credit to the checking; debit to music ministry expens...

Revamp Contribution Funds
Still being relatively new to Powerchurch, we have been passing all moneys through the contribution module. This includes pass thru funds such as donation to mission projects, payments for trips, purchase of ministry items such as shirts, purchase of event tickets. After printing year end contributi...
