Re: Multiple Funds, One Deposit Slip
<snip> If I have different funds that people donate to that are DIFFERENT bank accounts, it still only prints out ONE deposit slip with all the checks for every different fund. <snip> Am I wrong to think that you should be able to sort on a fund number, date, etc. to generate the bank deposit repor...

If I'm understanding your question correctly, the only way I know to properly credit the individuals now is to make a comment on their contributions statement. This is assuming that you have a way to ensure proper credit amounts to each person. The way we work it is this: - If the contribution is ma...

Jay, We keep our envelopes for two years. For contribution statements, our goal is once per quarter. It keeps down any surprises at the end of the year. We also have a standing rule that if a contribution is not designated, it goes into the general operating fund. We remind everyone at our business ...

Jay. The finance committee generates three reports that are combined with the envelopes, credit card report and tally sheets. All are turned in for final validation prior to posting the contributios for that week. They are: - Funds Report, unposted (for the date entered) - Bank Deposit Slip, Unposte...

Neil, thanks for all the answers. These couples have been in the church for years and are one of those types "who don't like change" :) Jay,. If you'd like a chuckle.... Last year I reset everyone's envelope number moving to numbers beginning with 3000. You wouldn't believe the complaints I receive...

Another question, would you be able to write a custom report to sort the "Bank Deposit Slip" by either contributor's last name or envelope number (even though the envelope number doesn't show up on the report)? I know some folks say that they sort their checks alphabetically, but that seems like a ...

Richard, This could also be from a munged email address. I'd verify that the domain name in the addressee's address is properly spelled. There is also a possibilty that the email server on this domain recognized a batch of emails to it and this particular person's email exceeded the max count. I'd a...

Answering the second question first: Yes, that is the way I'd do it. With regard to training your replacement, I'd get them familar with PC+ now, if that would be allowed within your church. You can also contact PC+ and find out if there are any certified trainers in your area. Lastly, you could pro...

What Personal Profile do you assign the children / youth in your congregation?
We use

We also use "Attender-Minor" for children whose parents do not attend.

Unbudgeted Line Item
We're getting ready to start our budgeting process for next year. There are times when a decision is made to purchase something that was not included in the current year's budget. In the past, we have just expensed the item against that ministry's line item and consequently blowing their budget out ...

Would like advise on recording those volunteers who have been processed through background check procedure. ANy help?? We kept a date field open on the personal profile to track these. Neil, Great idea! What did you name the field? I'm assuming that this is the date the approval was received? Jeff

I took a slightly different approach. Our copier has a booklet mode. So, we print the directory out of PowerChurch on full size 8.5 x 11 pages. I set the copier to booklet mode with stapling and feed the pages. The only caveat is that for it to work, you must have an even number of pages. If I have ...

Re: Extra Lines in Attendance Forms, Weekly Column Format
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried one and with just a little work I think it can work. Still wish the program would do it, our last one did, and asked us how many lines and boxes we wanted. I think that that would be a great addition to the program. Perhaps a check box could be added to add lines ...
