I'd go the Friendship Pad route ... these are pads that are circulated down the row which are filled out by those seated. They have room for name, address, phone and columns for member, vistor, etc.
They can be found in almost every church supply catalog.

In our church we have Friendship Pads , where we ask that members and visitors sign in during worship. We then take all the names and do the attendence update from them. Our membership is currently 560, and we see worship attendence (both services) of about 420 or so. For the Sunday School, we use a...

Zaphod, Just wondering ... could the latest maintenance release emails (basically they are a readme/bugs fixed file) be posted on the website. I don't always keep the emails I get telling me of the new releases, and when I went to find the one for the March update, of course, I didn't find it. What ...

When I moved the system from one machine to a server running Win2K server, I found the best way to move it was to install PowerChurch Plus from scratch on the new machine, install any maintenance releases to insure that it matches the level of the old machine, do a complete backup from the old machi...

Ok - Thanks - Another related problem. PayPal charges 2.9% on the dollar and .30 per transaction for its services. That means that if I give $10.00 my church will only get $9.41. The 59 cent difference can not be considered as a charitable contribution because a service was rendered. (Check out pag...

PowerChurch doesn't care how you get the money, it just gives you the ability to track that you received it. There's no way to do an automatic transfer into PowerChurch, you'd still have to enter it through Enter Contributions like any other entry. Here's a way we did it at APC. When we setup our P...

Re: Setting default file locations
I am using PC+8.5 with the latest MR. I save files to a server. The PC+ file folder resides on the server. I want to set my default file export to the server folder. The default is to the "My Documents" on the C:\ drive. Can the default export location be changed? RA La Rue What type of files are y...

What we generally suggest is creating a profile, call it Loose Cash or whatever you want, and give it an envelope number. Now when you get that type of money enter it towards that Loose Cash profile. Here is an article describing the above. This is exactly what we do at APC. All our member numbers ...

The file involved with the check reader process is called coscan.DBF and its formatted as follows: KEY (the routing, account, and check # encrypted), ENV_NO , LAST_CO I am unfortunatly not familiar enough with SQL to be able to give you those commands. In PowerChurch, if you go to Utilities and Database Manager, at the command prompt type use <table name> (where <table name> is the name of the table you want, like CO) and then hit enter. At another blank command prompt type list stru and it will tell you the structure of the table you just use d....

Unfortunatly what you say is right. The only thing I can do at this point is to submit this as a suggestion to program development. The problem I see with this though is that if you have access to custom reports you would have access to all of the data, and Contribution entry only is a very limited...

Re: Data Structures
Check your inbox, Jim. I've sent the data structure documents over to you. Also, our dev guys recommend http://www.vfug.org and http://www.universalthread.com for your FoxPro needs. I'm catching up after not checking the forums for a while, and just noticed this post. Is there a location listing th...

Would like to see additional reports available.
I've previously sent in an email to add this request to the wishlist: Currently, we have groups of counters who do contribution entry each week. The contributions only permissions allows them access to a small subset of reports. We'd like to be able to give them access to the unposted funds report s...
