Re: Fund Beginning Balance
We have 1 checking account that is tied to all of our fund accounts. I did set up the beginning balance to the checking account at the time of set up. All of our funds are tied back to 1 checking account. The 2 funds that have balances to bring into the software is Faith Promise which is donor rest...

Re: Fund Beginning Balance
V.14; new user I have a Faith Promise Fund that has a beginning balance. How do I get this $ assigned to this fund from the General Fund? Please explain in more detail. Are you trying to add a beginning balance? Should I assume that they both use the same checking account?? Are they separate checki...

Re: Canadian Tax receipt signature
Hi, when I try to add a signature to the Contribution setup, I can only see what appears to be the Power Church computer, I can't get to my computer files to add the signature. What am I doing wrong? Are you using Powerchurch Online? If so, look for the drives that say 'client'. If not, please expl...

Re: Payroll - Direct Deposit/Check Issue
Hello, I need help. I paid someone via direct deposit but it went to someone else's account when it came to the ACH. We were able to get the money back but in the meantime, the employee was issued a check cause they rightfully needed their money. The payroll transaction in PowerChurch was correct a...

Re: Payroll - W2 Processing
Why are the PowerChurch Plus calculations are off? They're not ... if these are hourly wages, the amounts are adjusted for the actual wages paid in the payroll check. If they were not being calculated properly we'd have been told about it long ago as this is a very standard calculation. If you've b...

Re: Payroll - W2 Processing
I use "efilemyforms" to process our w2 forms. I get an error or recommendation message on each one questioning the SS and Medicare deductions. Any idea why they are questioning the deduction amounts? I can't seem to attach the screen shot but the message reads: "Box 4 should be 6.2% of Box 3 + Box ...

Re: posted contributions not appearing in reconciliation report
Yes, I have posted to fund accounting from contributions and fund accounting. Yes, date is not issue. I even unchecked the date. Bank statement is 12/31. The contribution was deposited 12/26 and appears on the bank statement. Contribution appears in the audit log. In the setup option it posts contr...

Re: Indirect/Soft Gifts
Thanks. The issue is not with Fidelity; it is with PowerChurch. How to record a "soft gift" donor (the donor behind the Donor Advised Fund) in the Contributions module, so that we can track all gifts that come from a donor. Not really. There are gifts you can't track in Powerchurch, such as non-mon...

Re: Indirect/Soft Gifts
If the charitable organization (i.e., Fidelity) sends donations from more than one Donor Advised Fund, then there is no way to "connect" the Donor Advised Fund to one specific donor. That's what I'm trying to get at. I want to connect each donor with their gift, even if they don't receive a tax-ded...

Re: Contributions received after 12/31
Thanks, Neil. You have given me advice on how to deal with the system and some checks dated in various years. You also answered what I was really looking for which is to not go through the exercise of making a separate backdated deposit. You have further stated that, in your experience, you have le...

Re: Contribution Date vs. Deposit Date
Thanks for your response. I do reconcile the bank statement with the deposits before posting contributions. I was just hoping for a way to show both the date of contribution and the date deposited to the bank. Thanks, Terry Frankly, I never advise reconciling the bank statement with the contributio...

Re: Indirect/Soft Gifts
Hi, thanks for your responses. Yes, my question was about donors who use Donor Advised Funds, not retirement funds. I want to "link" the charitable organization (ex. Fidelity Charitable), to the donor without giving them a second tax deduction for the gift. What happens when Fidelity Charitable is ...

Re: Contributions received after 12/31
The IRS allows taxpayers to deduct checks mailed before 12/31. But what are the requirements on churches? Let me give you an example. 12/31 was a Sunday. I did a deposit dated 12/31. Took it to the night depository. Every check on that deposit received credit in 2023. What about next week's deposit...
