Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

installing with vista

Post by kcritchley »

I am installing powerchurch at my new church from a windows xp pro machine onto our network. I have shared the powerchurch folder and mapped it on the other computers. The xp machines work fine but the vista laptop cannot see any of the subfolders unless I share them all. Any idea of how I can get vista to see the subfolders without having to share them all?

Are you talking about the subfolders to Powerchurch ?? I'm trying to remember but in Windows versions prior to Vista, a sharing of the main directory (folder) would grant permissions to any subdirectory. I don't know if this has changed in Vista or not.

You are running the Netsetup10 (or Netsetup9) program from that shared directory on each machine, right ?

Here's the Knowledge Base article on known issues with Vista: http://www.powerchurch.com/support/answ ... icle_id=66

I don't see anything that may relate other than the one saying to install to the default location.
