CheckReader

I am new user and considering the jump to the reader. Do you use the PowerChurch Check Reader? Pros/Cons. Is it easy to use? Does it post details to Contributions/Donors? TY :D

FWIW the check reader works fine. After the first time you associated the donor's checking account with the donor's Contribution account, it will remember who that is, and will pull up the correct account. The system will also remember the last donation given by that account, and pull it up along with the donor's info for display.

You will then have a chance to adjust the amount and the Contribution fund at that time. As our policy is to count the funds with a team of two, what we would do is have one person feeding the check, and another at the computer reading out the name and prior amount given to confirm the donor. If the person doing the 'feeding' finds everything the same, the computer person saves the data, or updates the fund and amount as needed based on the 'feeder' person's updates.

This works out fine, and speeds up the entry tremendously.
