Starting over

The person who was working with our PowerChurch left. We discover nothing was ever reconciled in years so nothing is balanced correctly. Is there a way to start over with the correct bank information and move forward from there?

In the Reconcile Bank Accounts screen, pressing the Space bar or Enter key on your keyboard will toggle the selected transaction as cleared. If you hold down the Space bar or Enter key, it will begin repeating and scroll down through the list of transactions clearing them all very quickly. You can clear out those historical transactions, leaving only those things that had not yet cleared as of the month you are wanting to start doing reconciliations in PowerChurch Plus.

When you are finished with this, click the Done button. You will be warned that the reconciliation process is not in balance. Click Yes to continue through this warning. When you are ready to do that first month's reconciliation, go back into the Reconcile Bank Accounts screen and it will be ready to go.

You will then be able to see how far off the balance actually is and enter an adjusting transaction to force it into balance with the first month's reconciliation.

There has been many years of not reconciling. If I use that same process that you mention going through those years would it still work?

Yes, that will clear years of transactions in a matter of seconds.
