Cannot email in PC+9

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Cannot email in PC+9

Post by MTZDetroit »

I am getting the following message each time I try to send email:
OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from CSMail.SMTPClient.1: A winsock error occured. WSAETIMEDOUT[10060] calling Connect(). Connection timed out. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond....

We have a firewall that requires authentication, which is done.
Our outgoing email server requires authentication which is set.

Any ideas?

Two things, what version of Windows are you running ?? What did you get back when you tried using the TEST button on the email setup under PREFERENCES ?? This gives additional debugging info to assist the Powerchurch techs.

Using PC+ since 1999.

Thanks for the reply. The server is running WinNT (yeah, I know) and WinXP SP2 on the desktop clients.

The previous message is the message we get when using the TEST button.
