I have been using a product called LogMeIn. It was easy to install, works well (so long as an electrical storm doesn't come along and remove power to the remote computer! and, no, we don't have a UPS...). The main point being that when I print anything from the remote computer - including PC+ reports, etc. - they print on my computer at home, by default.

There is a free version, but it does not allow for file management (transferring files between computers as Neil mentioned). However, the next level up (purchase) does allow file transfer as well as remote access.

If you haven't invested in the other product you might want to give LogMeIn a try.
