integration

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

integration

Post by marybethwesley »

Originally, when we installed PowerChurch, our treasurer worked off site. We installed one instance on our network drive and the other on a separate computer. The network drive contains contribution information and membership information. The separate C drive contains payables, general ledger, payroll, journal entries, and all items applicable to preparing financial statements. I would like to have ONE version running on the network with ALL components integrated since our treasurer now works on site. From that point we can grant or limit access. How do I go about doing this without losing any of my data in either iteration?

I'm assuming that they are both the same version of Powerchurch, and have all the latest updates. If so, have the treasurer do a backup of the ACCOUNTING database only. Then restore that database to the machine that has all the Membership and Contribution data.

Then delete the version of Powerchurch from the old accounting computer using the Windows Add/Remove Programs applet found in the Control Panel.

Then do the networking steps as listed here to link the computers together:

Hope this helps.
