Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Installing V10 on Windows 7

Post by Alaraujo »

Once I get thru the prelimary installation process, it gets stuck on the step: 'Installing runtime files. This may take a few moments to complete'. And nothing more happens after that.
Help. :(

Is it really v10 or v10.4, and there should be a date on the CD, this info will help figure out what is happening.

The very first thing I would suspect is anti-virus software or some other security type program that is halting the process. Possibly there is even a warning box popping up asking for attention. It could be hidden behind an open window and not be obvious. But look in the lower right hand corner for a blinking icon, minimize so you can see the desktop or maybe you can try to temporarily disable anything like this you have running.

Thanks for your help. I brought up Task Manager and noticed two different powerchurch pgms running. (I don't remember the names). But I ended one of them and the installation process finished.
I've restored my files and so far, all looks good.
Thanks again. :D
