Seeking book keeper in Brevard, NC familiar with PowerChurch

Post by beebalm1000 »

Hi! Our church has for many years relied on a long time member to perform all our PowerChurch work. She has decided to retire and we are now looking to hire a part time book keeper who is familiar with PowerChurch to assist our small church. If you are someone, or you know of someone, who matches this description please email me. We would be so very grateful. Thank you!

FWIW ... you really don't need anyone with 'bookkeeping' experience. It does help, but its amazing how the Powerchurch training they offer, the manual, and the forums can help.

If all they're going to be doing is entering invoices and printing checks, a quick learner is probably easier to find. FWIW ... what version are you using ??

Is this Brevard County in Florida? Used to live there ... if I were still there, I'd be filling out the application right now!

I agree with Neil's remarks. When I started my current part-time bookkeeping job I had no experience beyond maintaining household finances. The church was using a different church software package (which I struggled with mightily) before switching to PowerChurch 4 or 5 years ago. I spent some time studying the forum postings diligently along with the manual, asked several questions of my own (all of which produced very timely and very helpful responses from other users as well as PC+ tech staff) and took one seminar. This has been a dream to work with and (to parrot Neil) a quick learner should have no trouble meeting your needs.

Foolish me! We are in Brevard, NC. Which is Western North Carolina, 45 minutes southwest of Asheville, NC. Thank you all for your feedback. Your responses are very encouraging. Of course, we were hoping to avoid the inevitable learning curve associated with any software. We have just begun our "search" and your insights will be useful. Thank you!
