Program stops responding.

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Unfortunately, we need more information ??

What versions of Powerchurch and Windows are you using? How much memory on the computer. Is any other program running while you're doing this?

Any sort of error message that appears ??

PowerChurch 11.5, Windows 7. No error messages. The reports portion of the modules just stops responding. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PC 11.5 with no success. The regular functions of PC seem to be working fine, just the report generators.

When you reinstalled PCPlus, did you make sure the latest Maintenance Release was installed ?? Just want to make sure all the bases are covered.

Just was reminded of something, what type of printer do you have setup for that machine?? Do you have the latest Windows 7 driver for it ??

The reason I ask this, is that I believe PCPlus uses the printer definition file to create the report display. I may be wrong on this, but again, just one more thing to eliminate.

Everything is up to date. Everything was working fine on 11/25. No one else has used this computer. Is there a way to check for corrupt program files? Perhaps I had a sector on the hard drive go bad or the program has a corrupt file.

If it worked previous to Nov 25th, I suspect it may be something else that was installed around that time.

You did say you uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. Did you delete the Powerchurch directory?? Do a backup, then uninstall, then make sure that the PCPLUS115 directory is deleted from under the Powerchurch directory.

Then reinstall under the C:\Powerchurch\PCPLUS115 directory. Restore the backup, then try a report. If it still doesn't work, I'd give the Powerchurch support team a call.

Nothing else has been installed except routine updates from McAfee and Adobe. What about uninstalling older versions of PC? I'll try your recommendation tomorrow. Pray that it works! Thanks for the help.

Older versions shouldn't affect the current version at all. That said, if you have any versions older than 10.5, it wouldn't hurt to uninstall that version. If you have 10.5 or 11.1 they shouldn't have any issues.

Again, if nothing else works, you really need to call Powerchurch Support ...
