Custom Labels question

Post by John Dykema »

I'm using V 11.1 and all current. I've addressed this a year or two ago but could not solve it. To print labels for our Contribution envelope Boxes I create a custom label to enlarge the name and envel number and make it 'pretty' and all that.
No matter what I try it always comes out 3 labels per column. I always change the columns to '2' in the Custom Layout Setting window. I gave up last year.
It's time again this year and I've discovered what needs to be done. When in the Custom Label Edit Layout window I did my changes. Then I clicked on Report/Properties and low and behold the number of Columns was sitting at '3'. I changed that to 2 and problem is solved.
So, changing the number of columns in the Custom label Setup/Edit Layout window has NO effect on the number of columns you end up with.
Has this been addressed in the new ver 12?

One other question. Does ver 12 allow to save more than one Custom label layout to save us having to reset fonts etc for each custom job we routinely want to run?
Thanks much.

What you are seeing on that first screen is regarding the ability to start printing in the middle of a label sheet. The instructions listed in the following article mention that you can reset the label layout and choose which of the default label types that you want to base the custom label on. In this case, you would want to reset the layout because the custom one you are working on is based on the 30 label sheet, not the 20 label sheet that you have.

Because we use a few different customized labels, such as the envelope box labels I've designed, is there a way to memorize the different setups rather than having to redesign them every time we use them? We are using v11.1
