End of Year Questions

I'm a little confused with the new Version 9. If our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30th.....and we have closed the month of June and need to make some more entries.....the system is now in July 2005 month...there is no 13th month to work in. YIKES! There is also no end of the year close option under Fund Accounting. YIKES! What's the scoop.......

Several other questions:
1) If there is no end of the year closing now......we need to get some accounts deleted that have July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005 data.....we no longer need these accounts...need to delete them and add new ones. Is this possible? If so, how?

2) How can we change a detail to a group or vise versa if there is data already in these accounts? When we loaded the version 9 upgrade it through a bunch of level 5 accounts to level 6 without our realizing it....so now we need to fix some things.....and really don't know how to do this.

Since with Version 9 you are able to keep up to 12 months open that you can still post to, you have the ability to keep the latter months of your previous fiscal year open in case there are corrections to be made. What tells the system what month begins your fiscal year is in the accounting setup, where you designate what calendar month your fiscal year begins with. Once that is done, end of fiscal year operations are performed on the month before that. If you made a backup before you closed the month of June, and haven't added too many entries for July, you may be able to restore to point before closing June, then re-enter the July info, as well as the corrections needed for June. Once corrections are posted to June, you can get end of fiscal year reports without closing June, and can still keep it open several months in case any other presently unknown corrections need to be posted to June. I'm not sure about the question whether you can delete accounts you no longer need that have previous fiscal year data in them. Maybe program development has an answer for that.
