Does it support double byte character for foreign language?

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Does it support double byte character for foreign language?

Post by sxchan »

I am using the software for a Chinese Church in USA, and we like to enter Chinese characters for our member name. I try to copy & paste, but it show question marks ??? instead of Chinese characters.

I don't believe that the system was programmed to allow for double byte characters.

Any plan to support double byte character (for example Chinese, Japanese or Korean) on member Name? There are many church in North American that will love this support. Thanks,

I don't believe it is possible on this current software platform.

This is really strange! An older version that we were using did support double byte character. In our case, it was Chinese characters. However, once we (upgraded) to the current version. All the Chinese characters we entered previously become symbols :? . I am not quite sure if it is an upgrade or downgrade...

Could your software development team check what has been done in the (newer) version that does not support the foreign character any more? It will definitely make life much easier for us.

Thank you for your diligence in this matter.

Regards,
Roberta
