Clean Copy of PCV9 Containing No Data

Post by maviszook »

If I put my installation disk in the machine already containing PC+v.9, will it overwrite my old program full of data? I'd like a fresh start, but I want to finish the year with the old mess.

The installation process will ask you for a destination directory. Just choose a different location to install it to.

If you mean by a fresh start you are going to change or redo your COA, I would advise that you maintain a copy of the old V9 folder. I do this as a common practice at the end of each year. I have a folder called PCArchive and make a complete copy of the entire PC+ folder for that year in it. For example last years copy would be names PCPlus2006. This way if I want to do some old vendor or contributor clean up I can still go back and access data if I need to. It was something I got into the habit of doing when you had to do an end of year final closing and much of the previous years data was lost. I keep this information in two different locations as well.
