SYSTEM GENERATED posts

Post by john30brown »

Newly installed PCS ver 10 on windows XP. all seems to be working. After posting a debit to a CD Asset account and crediting my unrestricted Net assets ( acc # 3110-000), I pull up the Account Activity for acc 3110 and note a post.. "SYSTEM GENERATED" date 8/31/2007 Total of accounts set - close to this account" Questions? Am I properly posting a interest income to the CD account and crediting 3110? OR is this a normal post on my Account Activity? What does "SYSTEM GENERATED" mean?

Thanks

Hi John, welcome to the forum. As a PC+ user, I and other users often post answers we've found to problems that have occurred.

I can help with the 'System Generated' message. It means exactly that, PC+ created the entry that you see. As far as if you debited/credited the income correctly, I can't assist in that regard.

However, some advice. The forums are setup so that every function in PC+ has its own area. Membership has an area, Contributions has its own, as does Accounting. While I expect that people will see this question in the 'General Area', putting it in the Accounting section of the forum would enable others who may have the same question get the answer you will be seeing much faster.
