Quick Tasks - Contributions: Strange Behavior

Post by Eden Whitehead »

Is it me? Or is something very strange happening here?

To set up my Quick Tasks panel for Contributions:
Under "Available modules" I selected "Contributions."
Under "Available items" I selected "Menu items."
Under "Defined task groups" I selected "Contributions."

In the list of menu items (left-hand box) toward the bottom is an item identified as "Unposted Contributions." I added this to the list of "Tasks for above group."

The item appears in the Quick Tasks panel as expected. However, when I click on it, it produces a window where I am prompted for a "Save as" filename. What gets saved is a text file with what looks like data for a table of the unposted contributions. Is this the correct behavior for this task item?

What you added is the Unposted Contributions Mailmerge option that is available from the contributions menu by going to Contributions -> Create Mailmerge File -> Unposted Contributions.

If you are wanting the Unposted Contributions Report, select Reports on the left side where it says "Available Items." This will let you add a report to the quick tasks. If you are wanting the unposted contributions edit screen, select the Modify Unposted Contributions while still on the Menu Items option.

I will write up that the quick task option need to specify that those options are mailmerge items. Just looking at it there is a similar problem with the menu items for mailing labels as well under quick tasks.
