We have PCP v11.1. We have just purchased a new computer (Windows 7 64bit) and we would like your suggestion as the most efficient way to move our program and data to the new computer.
Would it be better to install the program from the orginal disks and then run program updates before backing up the data on the old computer and restoring to the new? Or can we download PCP 11.1 from your website and then restore our data to that?
Thank you very much.

Re: Move program to new computer
Copy the C:\PowerChurch\ folder from the old computer onto a flash drive. Then copy it from the flash drive onto the new computer in the same location. Inside C:\PowerChurch\PCPLUS11\Install\ is a program called Netsetup11.exe. Run that to install all the necessary files that go along with PowerChurch Plus and put shortcuts on the desktop and start menu.

Much more efficient than the way we've been recommending. Does this work for 10.5 also, or only for 11+ versions ??Zorak wrote:Copy the C:\PowerChurch\ folder from the old computer onto a flash drive. Re: Move program to new computer
All the way back to Version 7, though there the install program is just called Setup.exe.

Sheesh ... and I've been telling them to Powerchurch backup the old, install on the new, and restore ..Zorak wrote:All the way back to Version 7, though there the install program is just called Setup.exe.

Re: Move program to new computer
That works too. Some people are completely unfamiliar working in Windows Explorer, copying and pasting. So, for them, it is much easier to let the installer on the CD do all the work and just restore a backup like normal. Both options have their place.

Thank you. That worked like a charm. Very simple!
