Hi there,

I'm wondering if there is a step-by-step guide to installing an upgrade to PC+ within a network server environment. Currently we are running PC+8 on a Windows 2000 Server, with over a dozen clients accessing the shared data. All the client machines are running WinXP Pro.

The version 8 installation happened long before I arrived on the scene, so I'm not familiar with the proper steps I need to take to upgrade to version 9. I obviously don't want to lose any of the data and the settings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, you would install PC+ 9 on the server, in its own directory (of course), then make sure that new directory has the same share permissions that the current Vers 8.0 directory has for all the users, as well as any NTFS permissions that may have been granted.

Then go to each client PC, map the networked and run the Netsetup.exe program on each PC to install version 9.0. Make sure that you install Version 9 and all the Maintenance Releases on the server first, and download the updated Netsetup.exe file located in the download section of the website. I'm not sure if the distribution disk was refreshed with the fixed copy.
