Access to Multiple Versions of PC+ (Network Hosted)

Here's the scenario:

This may not be the best way to do it, but this is the way we're set up.

We have multiple versions of PC+ (by calendar year) on the server. CY2003 and CY2002 are version 8.5. CY2001 is version 8.0. CY2004 is version 9.

Only the finance pastor and I have access to the previous years/versions as they are locked down. The finance pastor needs access to them periodically to produce reports. I tried setting up short cuts to each directory on the network drive. She could access the database, but when she selected Fund Accounting -> Reports, the process would fail.

I am hesitant to run netsetup (on her computer) for each version in order to enable her to access them. I'm concerned that since v9 is current, loading previous versions may corrupt v9.

I'm interested in the group's collective wisdom on how to accomplish this.

AdvanceThanks,
Jeff

Jeff .. since the databases are 'locked' just install locally to her machine each in a separate directory with a copy of that database.

Neil,

Good idea, but...

If I install locally, my concerns are the amount of changes that will be made to the local Windows (and internal directories) and how those changes may impact PC+ v9.

The last thing I need is to create a reverse environment where she can access everything except the production (this year's) database.

Make sense?

Jeff

I've got three versions on one machine, one local, two networked. No hiccups.

Try this:

1. Install version 8 or 8.5 locally.
2. Rerun netsetup for V9.0

Should work fine ... try it at home first .. I did !!
