Cant post 2013 contributions
I restarted my accounting. Beginning balances October 2013. I put in November 2013 contributions, and I can't post to Fund Accounting. The error is that the date is the contributions I am posting have different dates from the current system year. I don't really understand, since there should be NO data with a date later than November 2013. Is there a place to change the "system date"?
Re: Cant post 2013 contributions
Did you try changing your "Working Month" to November 2013? Do this by going to:
Accounting > Fund Accounting > Change Working Month. I am also assuming than you have the number of months that can be opened at one time set properly. You would find that under Accounting > Fund Accounting > Setup > Accounting Setup then the "Fund Accounting" tab.
Accounting > Fund Accounting > Change Working Month. I am also assuming than you have the number of months that can be opened at one time set properly. You would find that under Accounting > Fund Accounting > Setup > Accounting Setup then the "Fund Accounting" tab.

Judy,
I'm going to assume you're using PowerChurch v11.x.
You should not have a problem posting to November 2013 as long as that month is NOT CLOSED in Funds Accounting. If the month is closed, you really have no recourse but to Post Contributions to the Contribution Module only, then using the Contribution Funds Report, set the date for November 2013, and then manually create the deposit transaction in Funds Accounting in December 2013, if that is open.
As jwdick mentioned, you can have more than 6 months open at any one time, up to 18 in fact. You should make sure that it is setup that way using the directions he gave. You don't have a close a month, until you really need to. Since you restarted accounting in October 2013, you don't need to close October 2013 until April 2015 !!
That said, if you're using Powerchurch 10.4 .. let us know. In addition, please write down the error message or warning you're getting word for word, and let us know what it is. That can also give us a clue.
