Problem backing up to CD-R (or DVD+R)
I have Windows 7 on my home computer. I'm not sure what my church computer OS is. I use a CD-R (and have also tried DVD+R) to back up Accounting data. I backup at church and then restore to my home computer, work on it, and then back it up and restore to the church. I actually work at both places. My problem is that I am only able to back up maximum of 2 times on the same CD and then I have to use a new CD. The person who had this job before I did was able to fill up a CD-R with many backups. Is there a compatibility issue between Power Church 10.4 and my windows 7? I am using the same procedure that my predecessor used. He had an older computer at home.

It could be an incompatibility with the Windows writing to CD, we've not heard of a problem with PCPlus 10.4 and Win 7. I would check to see what the church computer has for a Windows version, I'm betting WinXP.LindaTruett wrote:I have Windows 7 on my home computer. I'm not sure what my church computer OS is. Personally I would switch to a flash drive instead of the CD's. You can get a fairly large drive - 16 or 32 gb - pretty cheaply. They are easier to carry around and you can erase old files which allows you to use it pretty much indefinitely.
If you do a complete backup of your database the file can get pretty big - mine are over 18mb. So they can use up CD space pretty quickly.

Good advice ... much easier to use, and (usually) no problems with compatibility between Windows versions, at least versions from XP on uptborgal wrote:Personally I would switch to a flash drive instead of the CD's.
