I would like to know if any one has setup Powerchurch w/ VPN

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

I would like to know if any one has setup Powerchurch w/ VPN

Post by xcel2greatness »

Hello Everyone, I am looking for any one that has setup Powerchurch in a VPN setup. I am working with a multiple location setup with users that have to VPN into the Powerchurch configuration. Since the Powerchurch is not a Client Server configuration, the EXE takes a long time to travel over the communication lines of the VPN tunnel. I see the back end of the Powerchurch installation to be like foxpro and I've worked with programs like this over dial-up configurations (was not pretty). I would like to know (before I start playing with the configurations) any one that has set this up before.

We've not actually tested this here, but this may work. Install PowerChurch on your remote computer, and change the desktop shortcut to "Start in..." the mapped drive on your server. That way, the .exe is housed locally, but the data is being accessed remotely.
