Budget report - non-budgeted categories

I am trying to find out where the non-budgeted categories on the Budget Report come from and if I can post amounts to those categories? We have donations come in for certain areas of ministry and would like to show those donations as seperate from the regular budget amounts allowed for that ministry. Appreciate any help! Thanks!

Pam,
If you are asking about what I think you are we show those as designated funds. When people give money for youth group, food bank, our van etc. Sometimes they are even items that are in the budget but since you can't add money to a budget amount they are new line items in the designated funds. In v.9 it seems they are really moving to call these restricted funds. I'm still working on the conversion to see how that will work out.

Thanks Sue, I was wondering if that was where those funds might be posted, in the restricted funds, on v9. I was just shy about trying it before I questioned it. I'll show this info to our treasurer and see about maybe posting there to see if is shows up next month on our budget report. Have a blessed day!

You're welcome and I understand completely! It is nerve wracking thinking of making mistakes with the church's accounts even though pretty much anything can be corrected. That is why I browse the forums regularly. It is so nice to interact with others working with the same software.
