Hello all,
We recently copied the data from our old WinXP computer to a newer Win 7 computer and shut down the old one. Unfortunately we found that an additional computer had pointed to another copy of the data so we ran with two copies for approx 6 weeks. Would anyone know how we could pull the 6 weeks data range out of the second copy and pull it into the primary copy?
Thank you in advance for any help.
In Christ,

Which has the most correct data?? The reason I ask is that its not that easy to do something like that. If the data was only Contributions or Accounting, there is a way to extract that and then restore to the main database, however, even then you have to make sure that nothing was entered on the main database that would be overwritten.
It would help to know what the data is, and why you were using two copies.

I take it that you're not networked ??mschrock wrote:Hello all,

Re: Export financial data from second computer and import to
Thank you Neil Zampella, it is contribution data. Both databases have the same data up until 1.18.16, then one updates through 2.22.16 and the other does not so we just need about one month's data pulled out and imported to fill the gap in new computer's database.
Timeline looks like this:
Old computer = all up through 2.22.16
New computer = all up to 1.18.16 and the all new after 2.22.16
Thanks for any help,
Mark S.

You could print out each Sunday's between Jan 18 & Feb 22 from the old machine using the Posted Contributions report. That would mean creating one report per Sunday. You would then enter that data using the Contribution Entry screen for each date.
You would then post that as an Only Update the Contributions Module posting since I'm guessing that the original contributions have already been posted to Funds Accounting.
The other option would cost you a slight fee (not sure what they would charge) but you could have Powerchurch merge that data for you. I'd call them to see what they say.
Finally, if you have a network in your church, I would highly recommend that you setup your computers to use the ONE database, thus you can avoid all this in future.

That's a problem. There's no way to 'plug in' that missing data from Jan 18 thru Feb 22.mschrock wrote:Thank you Neil Zampella, it is contribution data. Thanks again Neil Zampella, we figure re-entering several weeks would be the way to go now. We have it networked now but unfortunately too late for the time period in question.
Have a great day:-)
