IDS links security

Post by dahill »

When my local desktop is sending and receiving information to/from the server through the IDS client, is the data going over the internet encrypted or otherwise made secure?

Yes .. I did some research to get the specifications from the IDS client developer site found this:

Enhanced Security
SSL security (up to 256-bit AES) and iPv6 support (connection between client & server)

SSL Definition (Wikipedia):
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL),frequently referred to as "SSL", is a cryptographic protocols that provide communications security over a computer network. ... The connection is private (or secure) because symmetric cryptography is used to encrypt the data transmitted.
