EMail setting in user preference

Currently using Power Church Online
Trying to setup user email options. How do I determine which of the following should be selected in the outgoing email server authentication security box? Will selecting the incorrect option cause errors when sending mass emails?

None SSL TSL

The advice is to setup the program using the same settings you would use for your local email program. If you get your email using a browser, there is usually a link to instructions on setting up email programs like Outlook or Thunderbird, those instructions would have the correct setting.
