Network setup help

Post by lefrancois »

Hello,

I'm looking for some help setting up PC9 on our network. I've scoured this forum for the particular error I'm seeing with no luck. Currently, PC9 is installed on a Windows 98 pc that is acting as the server. The PC directory is shared so that other computers on the network can see it. On another Windows 98 pc, I've mapped a drive to the server, ran netsetup.exe and everything is fine. This Windows 98 pc can run PC9 and access the PC data on the server.

The problem I'm having is with a new Windows XP laptop the church has just purchased. I've mapped a drive from the laptop to the Windows 98 server, so the laptop can "see" the PC9 folder. I run netsetup.exe from the server and everything looks OK. But, when I try to launch PC9 from the desktop of the laptop, I get the following error:

"This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling may fix this problem."

I've uninstalled and rerun the netsetup four or five times with the same results. I'm baffled. Anyone out there who has seen this before? Thanks.

Zaphod,

Thanks for the quick response. I stumbled across this article a little while ago (I guess I should have searched for keyword "reinstalling"). I'll try removing this MS Hotfix to see if it works. Thanks again.

Ken
