Using windows 7, also tried on win10 desktops. Havent done a mailing while working at home due to Covid. Now we are back in the office.

Gmail requires that you set the "Allow less secure apps" option in your account to allow SMTP access to programs like PowerChurch that use user and password authentication. This setting has historically just reset itself every once in a while, turning off access.

However, Gmail is also removing that access ability and will require OAUTH access and sending through their API instead of SMTP access. We have updated newer versions of the software with this functionality. Version 11/11.1 is no longer under maintenance and isn't going to receive that update. Eventually, you won't be able to email via Gmail at all in Version 11/11.1.

Zorak, we are set to allow less secure apps. I called google cloud support this morning and he looked at everything and it looks good. Then, to test further, I went to Personal Profiles to send a test email to someone. When I clicked on the Envelope icon it did not give me the boxes for subject and body like we've always seen, but it opened up a new google web page. That's when the support person said to get back to PP+, which i'm doing now.

Could this problem be because we don't have a newer upgrade? Did this access ability happen within the last 2 months? If yes, it would explain why it worked pre Covid and not now when we came back to the office.
Thank you for your reply, as always.
John

Clicking the envelope icon to send an email just opens your default email client. This feature was improved in Version 12 with the option to use PowerChurch to send those emails.

We did have to replace the email components a few years back in Version 11.5 because of some compatibility issues with secure mail servers and when running a 64 bit OS.
