Our church just purchased Powerchurch Plus version 9 and we are working on data entry, etc. and beginning to utilize different users.
We have individuals who need access to the Membership module--however, we are concerned that the person's envelope numbers can both be viewed by the user as well as inadvertently (or purposely) changed.
Is there a way to hide the envelope numbers in the Membership modules and restrict or lock it so it cannot be changed unless it is by the Administrator?

No, the envelope number is part of the record. And that is how it should be. However, unless they have access to the contributions module, people cannot access any information based on the envelope number, let alone change it.

PC+ has full security through the password module administered by the System Administrator. You can grant access to read only, read/update, read/update/change in every module.

As long as these individuals do not need access to Contributions, there is no need to worry. Our Contribution Counters have Data Entry access only. This does allow them to add contributors, and assign envelope numbers, but not have any access to change numbers. The numbers they can assign are outside our membership envelope numbers, and the only person who can change envelope numbers, besides me (sysadmin) is our Financial Secretary, who does all the contribution reports.

Kathy, I think what may be confusing is that Neil is talking about the NUMBER on the envelope (the contributor's envelope number), NOT the NUMBERS that the contributor has GIVEN. There's nothing wrong with seeing the contributor's envelope number, as long as the person doesn't see the AMOUNTS that have been given, and as Neil said, unless the system administrator (the person that sets up the passwords) grants them access, the PowerChurch user cannot see any of the giving amounts for any contributor.
