Our young church has recently hired a part-time office admin, named one of the elders to serve as treasurer and purchased PowerChurch for our recordkeeping.

The elder/treasurer will be in charge of accounts receivable (tithes and contributions) and the office admin will be in charge of accounts payable (utilities, supplies, payroll). The elder/treasurer will have access to ALL areas of the PowerChurch software. The office admin will NOT be able to access contribution information.

What potential problems do you predict for this arangement and what solutions or tips would you offer to make this situation run as smoothly as possible?

If both users are able to access a central installation of PowerChurch via a network (or if they're both sharing the same computer) then there shouldn't be a problem at all. You just set up the appropriate permissions for each user under the Password setup. This setup is HIGHLY recommended if you have the technical capacity (two or more computers networked together). You can have as many people as you need accessing PowerChurch in this way.

If you have two separate installations of PowerChurch (only if you don't have a network), then you will run into problems trying to combine all that data into one place. Combining data from two different installations of PowerChurch can be done using backup/restore, but in your case, you've got one person using AP and another using AR. Both of these get backed up together when you make an Accounting backup (or All Data Files too). They would then be restored together, and you run the risk of overwriting one or the other set of data.
