Using two funds

Post by stache »

In the "Maintain Chart of Accounts" window, there are two funds listed. When I try to "Locate" accounts for fund 2A, it lists all the accounts in fund 01. Is this the standard format or is there some way to list only accounts in fund 2A?
Thanks,

I assume that you are using Powerchurch version 9. Version 9 handles major accounts this way: when you create a major account, for example I have account 5700 for Miscellaneous, the account number can be used in any fund that I have - if I have a fund 01-5700 it is the miscellaneous account in my 01 fund, if I have a fund 02-5700 it is the miscellaneous account in my 02 fund etc. so that you could have several instances of the 5700 account. The "locate" window shows all of your major accounts only, not what funds they belong to. So in short, there is no way to get the "locate" list show only one fund in this window because they are trying to get you away from thinking that the funds are completely seperate. If you want a list by fund, go to the Fund Accounting Reports menu and choose chart of accounts, then type in the fund account you want. Hope this helps.
