Why don't you have a "Save" key on the end of the Fast Data Entry instead of "Are you sure....?" After all, Yes, I'm sure I want to save this new data! I just entered it! And then I want to go on to another task. I find the pop-up screen redundant and unnecessary.(Personal opinion only, of course.)

I'm assuming that the 'Fast Data Entry' you're talking about is the one for Attendence. One of the reasons this is there is because sometimes the Done button is hit accidentally, this allows people to cancel and return to what they were doing.

Its more like a safety feature, and also a way to cancel all changes if you realize you've put the wrong date in the system after you've entered some data.
