I have recently changed computers and I am having difficulty getting my Pocket PowerChurch to sync on this new computer.
PowerChurch Plus 9
Operating system: Windows XP
When I click on the Pocket PowerChurch icon on my desktop it opens a screen with this heading:
Pocket PowerChurch Sync
Step 1: Specify the PowerChurch Plus location.
One of the instructions on that page is to specify the folder where PowerChurch Plus is installed on you computer
And so in the “PowerChurch program directory” box I type in the appropriate location of the data file and then select the next button.
And then this warning screen appears:
WARNING: System Administrator password is invalid. Please contact you system administrator.
That is the only option that we are given and are unable to type in a user name or password to move beyond that step.
The System Administrator is stumped as well as I.
Any suggestions?
problem with initial sync on new computer

When I use the v9 update, it initially will allow me to identify the path to the data and let me put in a user name and password.
It even allows me to go through and select the data to download. I click the button for it to “download to the handheld” and then it tells me it is waiting for the sync to start.
I go through the entire sync sequence and the data never loads. The only option left on the screen is a button to “Cancel Download”.
So then when I cancel the download and open Pocket PowerChurch again, it takes me through the sequence as I stated in the original message (see above in the first message).
Since I am using the v9 update, what else can I try?

I need some clarification on this. In going through the entire sync sequence, do you mean going through an actual HotSync? Pocket PowerChurch will not automatically start your HotSync process.RevKurt wrote:I go through the entire sync sequence and the data never loads. If you have gone through a Hot Sync process that you manually started, and the data is still not there, then try the option to "Install Pocket PowerChurch on Handheld" to install or reinstall the program on the PDA.
Once that is complete try the sync process again. Remember that Pocket PC+ does not automatically start your HotSync.
Yes, I am aware that Pocket PowerChurch requires a manual start through the Pocket PowerChurch application. Once it is manually started it requests and waits for a hot sync from the handheld. That is how I have attempted the sync each time. That is how I have done the sync process since I have had this PDA program over the last couple of years. I am just doing it on a new computer.
As per you suggestion, I have tried the option to "Install Pocket PowerChurch on Handheld" to reinstall the program on my PDA. I have done that. Yet when I try to sync the data and it is still doing the same thing as reported previously.
Additionally with the reinstall I have lost the existing PowerChurch data that was on my PDA.

I just want to clarify ... you're pointing to the networked drive where Powerchurch is located, right ??
In reading your post, you said you were pointing to where it was installed on your computer. Not knowing how your system is setup, you may have a Powerchurch directory on your system'c C: drive, but it is not one where Powerchurch is located on the network.

Yes I am pointing to a networked drive where Powerchurch is located.
I am certain that I am specifiying the correct address in the network for the Pocket PowerChurch to access the data.
I do not believe that is not the issue.
I say that because we have a number of computers that are set up in the office pointing to that same location. In fact when I set up PowerChurch on this new computer, I had to access the PCPLUS9 folder in that location, and the PowerChurch itself is working fine on the new computer.
