When I choose to restore selected files I have a problem understanding the abbreviated file names and their meanings. I do understand that some files are attached to others or depends on others, so to restore one and not the other can cause a problem. Files with names such as Data/COQB.CDX, DataCO.QB.DBF, Data/CoScan.CDX, Data/COSCAN.DBF, and there are many more. I don't have a clue as to the meaning. Will someone please give me a complete list of the meaning of the selected restore files? Or where can I locate that information?
Thank you [/b]

Re: Restoring Selected Files
As mentioned in the warning dialog that pops up when you do a selective restore of data from a FULL restore, alot of the files are interrelated, and this type of backup should only be done if you know what you're doing as indexes could have changed between the 'live' data and the backups.martha wrote:When I choose to restore selected files I have a problem understanding the abbreviated file names and their meanings. Finally, here's a link to a Knowledge Base article on the data files for v8.5, which will cover ver 9.0 also. http://www.powerchurch.com/support/answ ... icle_id=48
However, before you do this, its best to let us know what area you're trying to restore, and then someone here can give you some specific advice.
