I have tried the fix-it that is suggested. (disabledropshadows.exe) When trying to use it message said I did not have Power Church on my computer. Reinstalled Power Church. Downloaded and installed maintence release for v. 9, then tried the fix again. Got same message that I did not have Power Church on computer. What now??

Could you give us some more information about this error? What is the exact error message you receive, and what are you doing to receive it? Any specifics about your system would be helpful as well (computer, os, etc).
Thanks.

I have Windows XP. When I first click on the Power Church icon I get a message "Program Error" "Invaid path or file name" then when I click on the ignore button I get this message "Fatal Error:Exception code = c0000005 @ 1/03/07 02:15:50 PM. Error Log file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP\vfp8err.log"

Is this the 'server' machine, or a client ??
If its a client, I'd rerun NetSetupX.exe (where X is the version number .. you didn't say which version you're using). If its the server, then what I would do is a reinstall from the CD, however, the Powerchurch Techs may have another idea on that.

I have a stand alone Gateway Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1700MHz with 1.69 GHz, 256 MB of RAM running with Windows XP Professional Version 2002 and Service Pack 2. I was wondering, should I uninstall, then reinstall the whole program? Really need to get it to work soon. First of the year and all.

FWIW ... running XP with only 256MB is a problem all its own.
I don't beleive you need to 'uninstall', but you can since the data files will not be deleted.
Still can't get Power Church to open

I had Power Church installed once before on this computer, but now even after uninstalling and reinstalling from CD I can not get it to open. I have the same messages as before. Any ideas?

You are going to need to contact support. A C5 is the error reported when a really low lever problem occurs in the programming language we use. Basically the language itself cannot report the error. Possible causes could be anything from a bad driver somewhere on the system to a data table that is so corrupted that it is corrupting memory when read.
