Invalid seek offset

Post by kernardo »

Help.

I receive the following error "Invalid seek offset". I am running PowerChurch Plus 8 in a Windows 2000 Server environment with Win XP Pro and 98 Clients.

When a user logs in to PowerChurch no problems, but it seems that if you stay logged in after about 2 hours this error shows up in no matter what you are trying to do. I have applied the maintenance package dated 12/19/03 and also, uninstalled and reinstalled the Powerchurch on the server, and still the same issue.

Thank you.

Can you get the same issue to occur on the server? Generally, an invalid seek offset is indicative of a networking issue. If it does occur on the server (ie. you've removed the network as a factor), then you can try reindexing. It's actually a good idea to be doing that regularly (1-2/month) anyway.

I have not tried running PowerChurch directly from the server, but have done the reindexing. Reindexing was done prior reinstalling the software. After reinstalling I again reindexed. I will have a user run the application directly on the server and see what happens.

Thanks.
