Considering Buying PC+

Post by prseay »

I am a volunteer treasurer for a church and I am considering buying PC+10 (it will be my decision). We currently use QuickBooks Pro2004 and they are trying to force us to "upgrade" to Pro2007.

I have a demo of PC+ on order, but I'm also gathering info from people who use it. One of my big concerns is that it doesn't automatically generate payroll tax payments and forms (forms such as 941 Quarterly Report). I'm used to getting these things with the click of a button. How much of a pain is it to generate monthly tax payments and quarterly returns on PC+10?

Thanks.

I find this to be a tedious procedure. I use the Payroll Item Summary report. I then need to do some math to get all the items into the correct category. I pay the withholding on line so I need to break things down into federal withholding FICA and Medicare. The 941 is fairly straight forward to fill out but I made up a spreadsheet to help with entering consistent information. However if this is your only concern I would not let it influence your decision negatively. This is a great piece of software that you will be very satisfied with. The forum help is second to none and the response to user requests for changes to the program is outstanding.

FWIW ... if you're only planning to use PC+ for accounting, then you're going to be neglecting much of the usefulness of the program.

One of the reasons we originally decided on PC+ for a previous church was because out of all the products for church management on the market, PC+ had the most features at the right price of all of them.

You need to be discussing the use of the program with any membership and stewardship/financial secretary personnel, as the entire package allows the church to have one system that maintains all the church finances as well as contributions and membership details.

It really is alot of 'bang for the buck'.

Using PC+ since 1999.
