Report with Envelope Numbers

Post by schannam »

I am using PC ver 9 and have not seen this question addressed anywhere else.
I finally succeeded in getting my church to switch over to using the Contributions module of PC. However, the counting committee still wants to have a paper copy of envelope numbers, sorted alphabetically, with phone numbers AND where a husband and wife have the same envelope number, that they appear as "John and Judy Doe" or similar.
I can get the list printed alphabetically, in this format, with heads of household on the same line, but not with the envelope number listed!

Can anyone give me any pointers?

Much thanks.

You can either use the built in Envelope Numbers Report in the Contributions module, and tell the counters that they can use this one (since the husband and wife will show up one after the other usually), or create a custom report.

Quick question, why do they want such a list, since they can look up the names from within the system ??

The problem is that it prints husband and wife separately. I actually have found that by using an actual contributions report, it puts it in the proper format for them.

The reason for this printed list is because they have always had a printed list for the last 100 years or so and I am dragging them kicking and screaming into the computer age. I am sure once everyone sees how SIMPLE it is to do this with PC most of the people involved will be happy!

True ... but printing out the contributions report for all members uses alot of paper. Using the Envelope Number report cuts down on that. I'd just say that this is one of hte changes they're going to see, and let it go at that ;)
