I'm trying to send a group email to our members. I get the message: "A connection to the email server could not be made 2.0.0 Bye" Anyone know what I can do to get this to work? Thanks,Mary

Mary,

you have to have the email settings setup by the system administrator. This would include all the needed info to logon to the server.

Without more information on how or if your email settings are setup, we can't do much more.

Blessings.

I had to override the email info because our administrator was using his home email. I put in all my info and even added the verification part, since I didn't know if that was a problem or not. I ran another test and it told me a problem was detected with connection. It continued to do another test with logging to get more details. The error message I got back had a bunch of url info I can't post including my smtp address, it stated that "timeout exceeded".
Does this help you help me?
Mary

Sounds like the SMTP server is not accepting your authentication, turn that off. If that doesn't work, some servers require that you check your incoming email prior to sending any outgoing email.

So do an incoming email check with your email program (Outlook or whatever you use), then try the test again.
