I am trying to network several of our computers to our main bookkeeping computer..........i have chosen the share powerchurch file option.........i have run netsetup on the other computers.........we are using windows XP.........when I try to login to powerchurch from a computer that's networking into the powerchurch file on our main computer......i get this message after I type in our password: i get an error box......it says: ERROR program: userlist.updaterow Line 384 Error 111 message: cannot locate the cursor PCINFO1 since it is read only.
I also tried to do as you suggested on another post in your forum doing the RUN - CMD thing...........that did not work either............
How can I get the other computers to be able to login to PowerChurch without this ERROR box coming up?
Thanks
DK

Re: LINE 384 ERROR 111 - NETWORKING
I'm not sure what you mean by share powerchurch file option. The only way to network Powerchurch is to share the main computer's directory where Powerchurch is installed.swm wrote:I am trying to network several of our computers to our main bookkeeping computer..........i have chosen the share powerchurch file option.........i have run netsetup on the other computers.........we are using windows XP.........when I try to login to powerchurch from a computer that's networking into the powerchurch file on our main computer......i get this message after I type in our password: i get an error box......it says: ERROR program: userlist.updaterow Line 384 Error 111 message: cannot locate the cursor PCINFO1 since it is read only.

That directory must be setup as a FULL SHARE on the network, and that permissions for EVERYONE to be able to change files is granted.
Mapping the drive should be done as listed here:

As to the reason you're getting that error, this is from one of the Tech 2 articles:
Hope this helpsCAN’T UPDATE THE CURSOR / ERROR INSTANTIATING CURSOR OBJECT / INVALID FILE DESCRIPTOR
These errors are caused by file or network permission issues and they each indicate a problem writing to or creating a file.
Since these issues relate to permissions, if you are on a network, the first and most obvious thing to check is the permissions on the folder the program is installed in. In order to run the software across your network, the folder must be shared with full read and write permissions for all users.
If the permissions are right or if you aren’t on a network, the next thing to check is the actual file attributes. There are no files in the program directory or any sub-directories that should be set to read-only.
Finally (not for the issue, just for this section, so take back that sigh of relief), if you are on a Windows XP machine and there are no files set to read-only, make sure that you are logged in under XP as a computer administrator and not a limited user. This shouldn’t be an issue if you are on a network, just if you are on a stand alone XP machine.
