I used to get this messages very occasionally, but for the last few days I am getting it multiple times a day. It was happening before I installed the latest release for v10.4, but it just happened again and I installed the release yesterday. I also rebuilt the indexes yesterday. It's a particularly annoying error because there doesn't seem to be anyway to escape it other than shut down PowerChurch from the Windows Task Manager and sometimes I have to reboot my computer before PowerChurch will work properly. I haven't yet been able to find one particular activity that triggers the error. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Thanks,

Ed Marino

Are you running PowerChurch on a network? Usually, when we see this issue, it's because the network is losing connection while you're trying to access the program. It could be something as simple as a cable being bad, faulty NIC, or a miswired port. If it's happening on several computers on the network, it could be a bad switch/hub/router.

Most commonly, we see this on wireless networks. If that's the case, make sure there are no interfering signals (wireless phones, etc), and that you can maintain a good solid signal to the wireless access point on both ends.

If you're not on a network, or you're getting this error while running on the server itself, reindexing usually fixes it. If that's still not helping, give us a call.
